STRATFORD INTERNATIONAL BREWHOUSE LTD
The brewery is located in Tap East which is part of Westfield Stratford City in East London by the Olympic Park (you can avoid walking through the shopping centre to get to the brewery). It has been open in October 2011 it is a DME 2.5 barrel plant with 4 fermenters.
Production is used on site at Tap East and you work closely with the manager and team there. Production is also goes our sister bar The Rake, Off-Licence The Drinks Cage at Borough Market and sold and distributed though Utobeer Ltd in and around London. Production has been in cask, KeyKeg and bottles. While this is a small plant it is ideal for a new young brewer to develop their skills. There will be a great deal of independence for the selected person both in terms of recipes, formats and production. The limit is the brewer’s imagination.
Brew current range and develop existing and new beers.
Maintenance of the brew plant both preventive and reactive. Including ensuring the brewery is cleaned.
Be able to package beer in multiple formats, cask, bottle and the various keg formats as they are developed.
Ordering ingredients as required including ant forward hop or malt contracts.
Maintain and complete all HMRC returns as required including Duty Return.
Develop the Tap East brand in association with the others.
Liaise closely with Tap East Manager and Utobeer over production plans. Including events both internal and external.
To attend and participate in professional bodies such as SIBA, LBA and others as required.
To actively maintain and participate in social media such as Facebook, Twitter and help maintain an active presence on the website.
Qualification and Experience
While a formal brewing and packaging qualification would be useful it is not essential. However, there must be evidence that the applicant has the skills to brew these could have been developed as a Home Brewer.
A dynamic outing individual who can take responsibility and lead others. They must be able to work as part of multiple teams on different aspect of the business. They must have imagination and skills to push Tap East in what is a very busy market place. They must have good communications skills and be able to be the face of Tap East beer.
