So folks another exciting week in The Cage with a load of new beers in. So here is a rundown of some of the awesome new beers.
Anchor Californian Lager- With two-row California barley, Cluster hops and Anchor’s own lager yeast. This delightfully refreshing lager pours with a creamy head, a distinctive aroma and smooth finish, making this lager ideal for your lighter dishes like Sushi.
Brooklyn Oktoberfest- Brewed with Bavarian Heirloom Munich and Pilsner Malts, Hallertauer Perle, Hallertauer and Mittelfrueh hops. This traditional Bavarian Oktoberfest beer is exactly what you need to wash down you Bratwurst this October.
Brouwerij Alken-Maes Hapkin- Saaz hops and French Summer barley make this strong blonde beer very drinkable. Lots floral aromas and slight bitterness keeps you coming back for another sip. Try this with a nice bowl of steamed Mussels.
Fyne Ales Zombier- A collaboration brew with home brewers Jake Griffin and Chris Lewis, prize winners at the 2012 IBD Scottish home brewing competition. This undead porter brings a rich tan head with aromas of deep treacle, followed by roasted malts on the palate with a bitter finish. *Utobeer and Fyne Ales accept no responsibility for a zombie related injuries.
Ecaussinnes La Penneffoise- This Belgian Prune beer packs a hell of a punch. An amber pour brings the aromas of plums, spices and of courses prunes. A great palate cleansing beer with raisins and prunes. Goes well with a slow roast pork joint.
Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier- A truly fantastic German lager. Aromas of caramel and raisins and a good malty crisp finish on the palate. Pretzels, Pretzels and more Pretzels…
The Wild Beer & Fyne Ales Cool As A Cucumber- Fyne Ales have been collaborating again this time with The Wild Beer Co from Somerset. Magnum and Celia Hops and Pale Malt, Crystal, Spalt, Torrified Wheat bring this lovely Saison to life. Brettamonyces and saison yeast add a lovely spiced finish to this beer. Try with an onion bhaji or two.
Victory Storm King Stout- Well what can you say about this Imperial Stout from Victory Brewing Co that hasn’t been said already. A truly stunning imperial stout that has aromas of roasted malts with hints of hoppiness. Rich dark chocolate, with a dry hoppy finish. This big beer deserves big food smoked ribs would do the trick.
