Yes, it’s that time of year again, the tickersphere is positively dribbling at the amount of unpronouncable beers they’ll be able to get their hands on this year!
The Rake’s 3rd annual Welsh Beer Festival beings at noon on Sunday 27th February with the usual set up of beers on the decking and in the bar. There will also be cellar runs of some of the stronger beers such as the returning 7.5% abv Motley Brew, the collaborative effort between the Otley brewery from Pontypridd and myself.
There will be a meet the brewer event with Nick and Matthew Otley at 2pm in the bar so you’ll be able to ask them an array of tricky questions about they Otley beers!
The beer list is just about finalised and the breweries I’ve ordered from are as follows :
Artisian, Waen, Otley, Breconshire, Bullmastiff, Monty’s, Three Tuns(yes I know it’s borders), Great Orme, Purple Moose, Vale of Glamorgan, Jolly Brewer, Conwy, Bryncelyn, Kingstone, Bragdy’r Nant, Preseli, Heart of Wales, Tomos Watkin & Rhymney.
There will be a couple of draught ciders from Gwynt Y Draig for those that prefer fermented apple juice to proper real beer and food wise, we’ll have our usual array of bar snack with the addition of Mootown cheeses from Wales for your enjoyment.
The festival runs until Saturday 5th March and we hope to see you there!
Get in the mood by watching this!
